Advent is a time of looking forward in hope and expectation. That also means it is a time of waiting. So, as we light the first candle this morning, we join Zechariah and Elizabeth in waiting in hope for God to act in our midst. We quiet our anxious hearts and wait for the rule of Christ the King to be manifest in our lives, in this world, and in the coming new creation.
