A year’s wages, that’s what Mary poured out on Jesus’ feet when she washed them with pure Nard. Such a gift seems extravagant, wasteful as one of the disciples even pointed out. Can there ever be too extravagant a gift when our hearts are overwhelmed with love and gratitude? Not when the recipient is Jesus. Easter people are resurrected people. How can our hearts not be overwhelmed with gratitude?
