We have been studying the Gospel of John since Christmas. In chapters 13-17 John has gathered the core of Jesus’ teaching. At the very heart of this teaching, centered like a bullseye, is this picture: Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” This one pictorial analogy presents the heart of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
